Alper Ertas advises biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in all aspects of intellectual property protection, enforcement, defense, and asset acquisition. With a focus on intellectual property disputes, Alper has significant experience litigating patent, trade secret, and trademark cases involving biotechnology, biologics, consumables, diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and reagents before U.S. federal courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC).
Utilizing a deep understanding of engineering and life sciences, Alper manages global patent portfolios and develops trade secret policies that protect intellectual property generated through the product life cycle, including ideation, clinical trials, regulatory approval, and commercialization. As a registered patent attorney, he represents clients in contested proceedings before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) to defend against patent infringement claims, drive early settlement, and reduce the overall cost of defense.
